Privacy policy
Ayurvedam is published by Humans AI by iCubeTech Services. We built this app to help you read and practice Ayurveda — not to harvest your data. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how to control it.
What we collect
The current version of Ayurvedam (v2.0) does not require an account, and we do not collect any personally identifying information. Specifically:
Stored only on your device (in Android's secure SharedPreferences): your chosen language, theme (light/dark), dosha quiz results, the IDs of articles you have saved or bookmarked, and your notification preferences. None of this leaves your phone unless you explicitly share it.
Sent to our servers: only anonymous, unauthenticated requests to fetch the article content you read (e.g. GET /api/mobile/articles). These requests do not include any user identifier, account, or device fingerprint beyond what every web browser sends automatically (We do not collect or store any personally identifiable information. Basic technical information such as IP address may be processed by our hosting provider for security and diagnostic purposes, and is not used to identify users.), which our hosting provider may log for abuse prevention and standard server diagnostics. We do not link these logs to individuals.
What we do NOT collect: your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, photos, microphone, camera, calendar, biometrics, advertising ID, or behavioural analytics. We do not have an analytics SDK in the app. We do not sell, rent, or share data with advertisers.
Why we collect what little we do
The on-device preferences exist so the app can remember your language, theme, dosha result, and saved articles between sessions. The article-fetch requests exist so we can deliver article content to your device. That is the entirety of the data flow.
Where it lives
Your reading preferences, saved articles, dosha results, and notification toggles are stored on your device only. Our content servers, which deliver article text to the app, are hosted in India and protected with industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+).
Your controls
You can change your language, theme, and notification preferences from the Settings tab in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes everything Ayurvedam has stored on your device.
If a future version introduces accounts, you will be able to request export or deletion of your account data by emailing us at the address below — we will honour requests within 30 days, as required by India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Children
This app is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or applicable age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has shared data with us, contact us and we will remove it.
Third-party services
The app does not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, social-login, or tracking SDK. Our content API is hosted by our own infrastructure provider (Vercel and a private content server). We do not share your usage data with anyone.
Permissions we request
Ayurvedam requests only two Android permissions: Internet (to fetch articles) and Network state (to show an offline banner when you lose connectivity). We do not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or any sensitive permission.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will notify you in-app before they take effect. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
